The Mareeba Drive-In is a historic outdoor drive-in theatre operating on a large outdoor property, so accessibility can vary depending on weather and ground conditions.
We want all guests to feel welcome and comfortable at the Mareeba Drive-In, and we’re always happy to answer questions before your visit.
Parking & Grounds
Movies are viewed from your vehicle
Parking areas are primarily gravel surfaces which can be uneven
Some areas of the venue may be difficult for wheelchairs, mobility scooters or guests with limited mobility
Guests are encouraged to contact us ahead of their visit if they have specific access requirements so we can help identify the most suitable area
Cafe Access
Our cafe is centrally located within the grounds
Access paths are primarily gravel and outdoor surfaces
There is currently a step up into the cafe area
Toilets
Toilet facilities are available on site
There is currently a step up into the toilet facilities
At this stage we do not have fully modern accessible bathroom facilities
Hearing & Sound
Movie audio is broadcast through your car radio using an FM frequency
Guests can listen through their vehicle sound system for a personalised audio experience
Vision & Sensory Environment
As an outdoor cinema, lighting levels are low during screenings
Vehicle movement and headlights will occur during the night
Guests are welcome to bring items that help them feel comfortable during the screening
